Critical History Tours Project
Sponsored by the European Union through Erasmus+, we are expanding our work by building European capacity for critical, engaged public history tours. Stay tuned for free events and workshops.
2024

Unnatural Histories Tour Launch
Sponsored by the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, we launched a new tour exploring collections, nature, and the politics of display.

Oxford Health Histories Project
In collaboration with the University of Oxford, we developed an educational resource on local health histories, including a website, free lesson plans, and collaborative stories.

Documentary: Iarsmaí
Our work was featured in an Irish documentary exploring the decolonisation of museums and institutions in Ireland and the UK.

Uncomfortable York Launch
Uncomfortable Tours expands north with the launch of Uncomfortable York.

EDI Reviews: Oxford University Press
Working with Oxford University Press to undertake equity, diversity, and inclusion reviews for new publications.

Official launch of Uncomfortable Cambridge with new routes and research collaborations.

Research Blog Launched
The Uncomfortable Oxford research blog goes live, sharing stories that don’t fit neatly into tour routes.

Transition to Social Enterprise
Uncomfortable Oxford becomes a social enterprise and begins weekly tours in Oxford, spotlighting diverse stories and engaging with ongoing controversies in history and heritage.
