Deconstructing Rhodes House – Free Tour for Oxford Open Doors
How do physical structures hold imperial memories? Why did Rhodes invest his wealth in Oxford? How are the legacies of British imperialism being addressed today?
Join Uncomfortable Oxford for Oxford Open Doors as we explore the architecture, history, and evolving legacy of Rhodes House.
On this 75 minute guided tour, we ask a fundamental question: What does it mean to inherit a building shaped by empire? Developed in collaboration with the Atlantic Institute and with valuable input from Rhodes Scholars, this brand-new tour invites participants into an open conversation about the physical and historical space of one of Oxford’s most iconic institutions.
