Workshop description

This workshop is designed for educators, curators, volunteers, or anyone engaged in teaching about complex and sensitive historical topics. It will transform your teaching approach and provide practical tools for handling discussions about controversial issues.

Based on our extensive experience running public walking tours on complex histories, we have developed strategies for effective public engagement, conflict de-escalation, and information retention. This workshop will instil participants with similar skills while empowering them to feel confident handling a wide variety of reactions to the topics they teach.

Workshop designed to be 1.5hrs in length, but length can be adapted.
